Social Economy Cantera Award: Open Call

Under the slogan «Young, committed and forward-looking», the Social Economy Cantera Award is a new distinction created to recognise companies and projects with less than ten years of experience. If your project aligns with this way of understanding business, this is an opportunity to gain visibility and continue growing.

Who can apply?

Applications may be submitted by worker-owned companies or other forms of participatory businesses.The call is open to projects with less than ten years of activity, based or operating in the Basque Country. It seeks companies that chearly reflect a commitment to active participation, equity, and democratic governance.

What is evaluated?

More than just an award, this distinction is a declaration of principles. The jury will assess projects that stand out for their commitment to the following core values:

• Participation, commitment and collaboration: The involvement of employees in management, decision-making, and profit-sharing is evaluated.
• Sustainability and social responsibility: The balance between economic growth and social and environmental responsibility is considered.
• Innovation and adaptation: The ability to provide innovative solutions to sector challenges, including digitalisation and the creation of partnerships, is assessed.
• Equity and inclusion: Equality, diversity, and work-life balance policies are taken into account to ensure fair working conditions.
• Transparency and good governance: Ethical management, clear communication, and accountability regarding economic and social performance are evaluated.

Benefits of participation

The main benefit is the opportunity to gain visibility and recognition within the Social Economy sector. The winning project will receive an original sculpture and financial support valued at €3,000. This support will be allocated to consultancy services in key areas such as management, marketing, sustainability, and business development.
