TERMS AND CONDITIONS

PURPOSE OF THE AWARD

The Txemi Cantera Social Economy Award is an initiative promoted by the business association ASLE – Association of Worker-Owned Companies of the Basque Country, aimed at recognizing the oustanding trajectory of entities, institutions, organizations, or companies that have made a significant contribution to the development, consolidation, and defense of the principles of the Social Economy: Participation, Democracy, and Solidarity.

This internationally oriented award, convened annually, pays tribute to Txemi Cantera, a driving force behind the worker-owned company model and a key figure in promoting worker participation in business management and social transformation.

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

The following may be nominated for the award:

• Entities, organizations, institutions, or companies, whether national or international, whose activity stands out for its contribution to the values and principles of the Social Economy.

AWARD CATEGORY AND RECOGNITION

The Txemi Cantera Award is granted in a single category.

The recognition will consist of:

• A sculpture by Basque Artist, Agustín Ibarrola, symbolizing the values and personality of Txemi Cantera, and recognized for its artistic value.

EVALUATION COMMITTEE AND JURY

The jury will be composed of representatives from institutional, academic, business, and third-sector fields, selected for their knowledge of and commitment to the Social Economy. Its composition will ensure impartiality, diversity, and technical expertise.

The jury will include:

• A representative of ASLE.
• The Social Economy Directorate of the Basque Government.
• The Provincial Council of Bizkaia.
• Representatives of collaborating entities and renowned national and international experts.

The jury’s decision will be final and will be made public prior to the award ceremony.

AWARD CEREMONY AND PUBLICITY

The award will be presented at an institutional event organized by ASLE, with the participation of collaborating entities and media outlets.

The winning candidacy will be publicized through ASLE’s official channels and those of its collaborating entities, contributing to the visibility of the recognition.

ACEPTANCE OF THE RULES

Participation in the Txemi Cantera Award implies full acceptance of these rules and of the decisions made by the jury and the organizing body.

ASLE reserves the right to modify organizational aspects for justified reasons, while maintaining the principles of transparency and equality at all times.

DATA PROTECTION AND USE OF IMAGEN RIGHTS

Personal data provided will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and other applicable regulations, solely for the purpose of managing the award process.

Participating entities authorize ASLE to use their name, logo, and institutional image for institutional, promotional, and public dissemination purposes. Confidentiality will be ensured for any information considered sensitive or not intended for publication.

APPLICABLE LAW AND JURIDISCTION

These rules are governed by Spanish law. For any dispute that may arise, the parties expressly submit to the Courts and Tribunals of Bilbao, waiving any other jurisdiction that may correspond to them.
